Designed by George Peck and Colonel S.V. Hotchin, the East London Golf Club belongs to the top courses in South Africa. The South African Open hasonship taken place here seven times already. The course lies near the Nahoon Beach and offers in many places breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean.
The course's terrain is hilly and undulating throughout with considerable differences in altitude. Right at the first hole (par five) it goes steeply uphill. The fairways are mostly seamed by thick bush. There are no water hazards, but numerous well placed bunkers. |
