Garden Route - Game Lodges

Gorah Game Lodge
Gorah Game LodgeThe first private concession in a National Park, is a premier lodge set in the heart of the malaria-free Addo Elephant National Park, home to the densest elephant population on earth.

The Gorah House - Restored to it's 19th century colonial splendour and period furnished, the main house reflects a noble opulence and delivers the meticulous service and attention to detail that characterises Hunter's properties.

The romantic atmosphere of the ten spacious and luxurious tented suites, recalls the golden era of safari in the early 1900's; yet with the comfort and excellence associated with Africa's finest game lodges.

Kwandwe Game Lodge
Kwandwe Game LodgeKwandwe means "Place of the Blue Crane" in Xhosa, and is home to a population of these majestic endangered national birds of South Africa.

Kwandwe is yet another example of far-sighted conservation. The dream of American philanthropist Carl de Santis 16 000 hectares on the historical Great Fish River have been restored and restocked with game, including The Big Five - a remarkable feat when you consider how long ago wildlife roamed the area.

Six luxurious suites feature bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, indoor and outdoor showers, separate toilet, twin basins, plunge pools, personal bars, Tsala’s and covered verandas. The decor is African-inspired, with earth-toned fabrics, indigenous timber and early settler antiques and artifacts. Each suite has a private thatched observation deck overlooking the Fish River. Pan African cuisine can be served on your private deck or enjoyed under a canopy of stars in our firelit boma.

Rates from £228.00 - £420.00 per person per night sharing.

Rates include:

• Two game drives per day
• Optional walking safaris
• Three meals daily
• Tea & Coffee and local beverages

Labibela Game Lodge
Labibela Game LodgeThis private game lodge's location in the Eastern Cape, South Africa, means it is not only malaria free, but spans 5 ecosystems (valley bushveld, grassland, fynbos and riverine forest), resulting in a breath-taking diversity of plants, animals and birds. With the recent release of the African lion into the reserve, Lalibela now offers the ultimate Big 5 game viewing experience.

The main lodge, decorated in traditional safari style, boasts a large lounge, viewing deck and a sunny swimming pool where you can spend a lazy afternoon. Lentaba, the "lodge on the hillside", sleeps 16 people in eight secluded thatched chalets, placed where magnificent indigenous gardens merge into the surrounding bush. Each en-suite unit has a private observation deck to make the most of the views over the valley bushveld. Each chalet also has a ceiling fan.

The outdoor dining 'boma' has a commanding view of a waterhole, which is spotlit after dark for night game viewing. Brunch is served al fresco on the main viewing deck.
